Having grown up around the corner from each other and attended all the same schools, even college, one would think that these two would have fallen in love long before the cheer competition in Vegas. Then again, those who know Shannon and Travis are not surprised that it was Vegas that brought these two together when their San Fernando Valley neighborhood never could. Disneyland is probably the only other place that could have done it.
As we discovered at their Disneyland engagement session, their love for Disney is just below their love for each other and we knew it would be incorporated into the big day in some way.
We met up with Shannon as she was getting hair and makeup finished up. With all the bridesmaids assisting with the final details, you could see that a lot of work has gone into this wedding day.
Meanwhile at Orcutt Ranch, Travis and his guys were sharing stories and “prepping” for the day ahead as well.
When everyone was ready, we snuck off for the first look in a private little spot that Travis had originally wanted the ceremony to be held.
After the full bridal party came together and friends and family began to make their presence, we knew that it was nearly time for the “I do’s.”
Nestled amongst the trees, the ceremony turned out to be a majestic, yet intimate gathering spot. With an exchange of personal vows and their first kiss as husband and wife, it was time for the festivities to begin! It clear that this was a historic site and that history was still being made to this day.
As promised Disney made its appearance in the “cake room”. This nook was transformed by Shannon and Travis and filled with photos from Disneyland (and the engagement session) and special Disney keepsakes, including the most adorable figurine of Mickey and Minnie Mouse in a teacup plucked right from the Mad Tea Party ride at Disneyland. Without a doubt, the highlight of the room was the wedding cake… complete with ornate sugar flowers and three Hidden Mickeys!
As the events of the evening continued on and the revelry slowly came to a peak on the warm Southern California evening, we had the privilege of meeting so many of Shannon and Travis’ amazing family and friends.
It was a beautiful day, filled with love, and set in the perfect setting for these two to join their families together.
