When Karina and Joey told us they were engaged, we knew we had to be part of their wedding. We have known them for 11 years, back when Emma worked with them at Pacific Theaters at The Grove. Through that time we have kept in touch with them and Karina has also helped us with Izzy on occasion. While we get to know all of our clients and find ourselves friends with them, and invested in their relationships, when your friends are celebrating their day and saying their vows, it truly is something special. Karina looked like a Princess and Joey was as handsome as ever. It is hard to believe we can look back on the days they wore the Pacific Theaters uniform and bickered in the lobby!
From the moment we showed up, we could tell the day was going to be full of love, laughs, and tears. Karina is Russian and Joey is Italian and the merging of their two families and cultures was incredibly fun to be a part of. Karina is a very hands on, crafty person. The details and thought put into her wedding day was incredible. The bird theme, subtly found throughout the reception, showed the level of care and detail that went into putting this special day together.
Before the ceremony, we took photos at Griffith Park and the Merry Go Round area (yes you need permission, we don’t recommend just showing up and trying, they are very strict.) The lighting was gorgeous and we were able to take the most amazing sunlit photos underneath the gorgeous old trees in Griffith Park. After that we headed to the ceremony and reception at Wilson Harding Golf Course. We took a few more photos after the ceremony on a gorgeous little footbridge off to the side of the golf course.
The reception was nothing short of a party. The first dance was amazing and I’m sure more than a few tears were shed. But then, in true party fashion, the Fireball bottle came out with a GoPro attached capturing some shenanigans for sure. An unexpected MINION showed up during the dancing, and caused quite a commotion. Whenever Minions are involved you know a party is being had!
We were able to put our cameras down (as we were considered guests also) and spend the last hour, having some cake, and getting our dance on! It was such an amazing experience to be able to be there for our good friends and capture all their memories for them.
Without further ado, please enjoy these Griffith Park Wedding photos.
