One of my favorite things about the wedding day is meeting the families and hearing the stories of our couple before they were a couple. The stories about Abby sticking up for her little sister in school and about Jared destroying his big sister’s Barbies when they were kids. These stories show us a little bit of the backstory behind all these amazing couples we get to know.
When we met for their engagement session, we knew this Malibu estate was going to be an amazing location. But little did we know what was actually in store. Abby & Jared brought so many amazing little touches with assistance from Jaime at Your Bash! to style this quaint little Malibu seaside location.
Decadent florals, by Sada’s Flowers, were everywhere. A beautifully handmade chuppah from Hire Elegance seemed to flow with everything else about this venue. The entire event was classy, yet still cozy and felt like it was just a family gathering.
The day began at Hyatt Westlake Plaza in nearby Ventura County for hair and makeup. It was a gorgeous property with plenty of room to spread out while getting ready.
Then we split up. I headed to Cypress Sea Cove to meet up with Jared in the Captain’s Quarters. Apparently this magical private beach hangout was all built for an episode of House to replicate Tahiti. I certainly would love to vacation here!
Emma got a ride into Malibu with Abby and her family in the limo. Once everyone was ready, and guests situated themselves at the ceremony area with a dramatic ocean view, the blissful wedding began.
Shortly after the guests cheered Mazel Tov and the vows were sealed with kiss, we got to revisit this amazing property with Abby and Jared taking some of their couple photos. Romantic, yet fun is the perfect description for these two. Even Jared’s mom confirmed for me that these two NEVER stop moving!
Then we all headed off to the reception with music provided by Ground Control. As everyone situated themselves for a delicious dinner by Wolfgang Puck Catering, we all got to hear the moments and stories from Abby and Jared’s families. With the most emotional moment of the evening by Abby’s dad and describing what it’s like to truly “give away” a daughter, he had EVERYONE tearing up.
With dinner complete the fun could get underway. Signature drinks (a champagne Jell-O shot for Abby and a spicy margarita for Jared) by West Coast Beverages and dancing were not all this party had in store.
In keeping with the unique theme, Abby and Jared had a custom chalkboard backdrop photo booth by Chalk Shots. So, of course we had to jump in and see what it was all about! This was sooo fun…. if you are looking for a photo booth, you must check these two out!
As the night wound down, the (cup)cake was cut and the dessert bar by Hollwood Candy Girls was opened. The best thing about this dessert bar was that there was something for EVERYONE! You know we LOVE our desserts, so to have everyone’s tastes covered is truly amazing… from cupcakes and cake pops, jelly beans and sour belts, to cookies and macarons, donuts and brownies.
Now that is what I call the perfect way to conclude a reception.
Thank you Abby and Jared for letting us feel like part of your family, I hope that these images give a glimpse of the beauty and fun to be had by all.
Look at how much fun we had in this AMAZING photo booth by Chalk Shots.
