Sun Kissed Santa Monica Beach Engagement Photos| Amy + Ian

As soon as we met Amy and Ian, it was obvious that they share something special.

Hearing stories about how they met, how their love grew, and how Ian proposed confirmed that they indeed have something magical going on.  Working together in Washington, DC sounds like fun to us here on the West Coast, but 60-70 hours a week doesn’t sound like fun for anyone.  The fact that these two managed to start a relationship and find some time together in the middle of these intense schedules is special… even if it was just for coffee.

Witnessing how Amy and Ian embrace SoCal living in Santa Monica reinforces why we LOVE living in Southern California.  They love the beach and the food and everything Santa Monica has to offer.  Ian even proposed to Amy at sunset on the beach.  Of course, as with every couple, there are two sides to the story.  Ian was preoccupied with making sure everything was perfect.  The ring was bought, Amy’s father had asked for support, and the simple, intimate, yet romantic day was planned.  But for Amy, she had just passed a major exam and wanted to celebrate.  Ian didn’t even seem like he cared so she was a bit annoyed.  That was until he mentioned he had gotten her something to wear for a few weddings they there attending and pulled out a little box.  He finished with “…and I hope you wear it for the rest of our lives.”  Then everything made sense and she definitely couldn’t be salty with him any longer.

So after hearing this story and it seemed obvious that we captured this with some Santa Monica Beach engagement photos.  We decided to meet up near their home near Tongva Park and hang out with them and their pup, Logan.  As the sun began to set we walked along the shore near the pier and even ducked under it to get some romantic photos of these two.
