As wedding photographers, getting to hear so many proposal stories is amazing, from simple and heartfelt to very planned out and still dramatic, they are all unique. More so, they are all perfect for the couple telling the story. Alyssa and Steve’s proposal story is no different. To the unknowing observer, one could say Steve just took Alyssa to some park and then popped the question. But there is so much more to their proposal. This “some park” was the exact same park in which they shared their first kiss. And Steve even reiterated the same subtle silly message this time as when he made his move initially.
Now as the wedding day approaches, we all headed to Conejo Creek Park in Thousand Oaks for some engagement photos. These two are big fans of Disney, with an Up themed wedding and honeymooning in Disney World. so, Disneyland seemed like an obvious choice and we have certainly done a lot of engagement sessions there, but Alyssa and Steve wanted something a little more relaxed. Right away we thought of the amazing Conejo Creek Park and Nerissa and Nolan’s wedding.
What we love about Conejo Creek Park is that you can get such a variety of backgrounds in one area all within walking distance from each other. From wooded and forest settings to the large lakeside park and even a natural Southern California habitat out front with succulents and native plants. It turned out to be the perfect setting for these two. They got to just be themselves which of course meant some silly faces and lots of laughter.
We can’t wait for this wedding day. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too much longer. In the meantime, browse through Alyssa and Steve’s Conejo Creek Park engagement photos.
