Emily and Grant are quite an amazing duo. The tennis theme for their wedding made their passion for the sport quite clear. But their passion for each other was unequal to anything else that day.
We knew a fun day was ahead of us as we arrived at Westlake Village Inn and Grant’s beaming smile greeted us in the parking lot. With his usual boundless energy, he told us what rooms everyone was in so we could split up and begin the day with everyone getting ready.
The vast Westlake Village Inn property is perfect for getting ready because it is quite easy to keep both groups separate until it is time to see each other. And even then, with sooo many different opportunities for a First Look, it is easily on our list of favorite venues.
Remembering back to their Ojai Valley Inn engagement session, we knew we were in for some epic moments to capture in their photos. To formally get things started we got their First Look going so we could take advantage of all the amazing photo ops all around the beautiful hotel.
Shortly after, we gathered the entire bridal party and got some group shots before heading over to the ceremony. They decided on the immaculate Tuscan Garden for the ceremony site and it was a gorgeous site. This area really came to life after being filled with all their friends and family. Even Hugs, Emily’s lifelong companion Care Bear, was sitting in the front row with her friends Champ and Minnie all dressed to impress. One could clearly see that everyone was ready to celebrate these two joining their lives together.
After their romantic ceremony, complete with custom vows to each other, everyone headed over to the reception. With the sun setting, we took advantage of the other side of the property while the guests mingled during the cocktail hour. From the tennis courts to the vineyards, we really tried to capture everything that these two embody. But being as fun and energetic as they are, this was a real challenge. As the cocktail hour came to a close, we all ventured over to the reception area to take the celebration to the next level.
These two promised dancing and they did not disappoint. As the evening continued on, even the cake cutting was full of entertainment. A few cupcakes were definitely harmed in the making of this moment.
Getting to know these two was truly life changing. We hope their celebration in Taiwan is just as much fun as this one. We can’t wait to hear their stories from the honeymoon and share all their wedding photographs with them. Until then, here is just a small sample of the lively day.
