We love to travel and see new places. But sometimes, we are spoiled by living so close to Hollywood and we feel like we get to travel to various places all around the country every weekend even if we stay right at home capturing weddings in Ventura County. This past weekend, fans of the movie Bridesmaids might have thought we were in Chicago, but thanks to a little movie magic it was actually Sherwood Country Club. We often get to see many places we take photos at in movies and television and this clubhouse truly did feel like it was transported from another place in the US to its home right here in Westlake Village.
Beyond the majestic clubhouse are the gorgeous greens nestled along the foothills. We got a rare opportunity to go out onto the golf course for photos since the course was closed as it neared the end of its refurbishment. Another favorite spot at Sherwood Country Club is the cozy parklike setting around the waterfall. It is really easy for photos in this area to look super cheesy, but when the light is beautifully peeking through the trees here, photos can also be breathtaking.
We were lucky enough to be here for Stacey and Shawn’s big day. We had a blast with these two during their Los Encinos Park engagement session and were really excited for their wedding day. Family has always been really important and we could understand why as soon as we started meeting everyone. This is quite an amazing and very close family.
Upon returning from their first look and photographing their romantics all around the scenic venue, we headed into the board room for the Ketubah signing. It was a sweet moment with Stacey and Shawn surrounded by their families and just set the scene for their ceremony overlooking the rolling hills. Following the introduction of the Mr. & Mrs. everyone joined them under the lights for cocktails and appetizers, then headed inside for dinner and dancing. These two continued with their personal touches throughout the reception with elements of fun like a putting competition and tables names with special meaning, such as “Hole Number 8” to commemorate Stacey’s Hole in One and “The Buckeye’s” for Shawn’s upbringing in Ohio and attending The Ohio State University.
Take a look through the photos and see how much fun we had.
