Being Wedding Photographers, we are lucky to be able to celebrate families coming together. When a couple gets married and becomes one, its truly a celebration of not just them, but their families uniting.. At the little Ballard Country Church, the ceremony officiated by Kellys father was just that!
Kelly’s family is already so super close. All of her sisters were her maids of honor, all dressed in white and all standing by her side in support of joining their lives with Alan’s. Alan had a notable exclusion on his side. Duke, their amazing pup, was supposed to be Alan’s best “man”, but sadly he lost his battle with cancer before the big day came. So, they honored him by wrapping his collar around Kelly’s bouquet.
This Santa Ynez wedding was notable in one other amazing way. As I mentioned before, Kelly has 4 sisters and no brothers. With no men on her side to carry on her father’s name, Alan made the decision to take her name and let their families name carry on. We love when we are part of something so incredible and unique.
After the ceremony at Ballard Country Church, we all headed down to Barrelworks in Buellton for a laid back reception. But, much like everything else just because it was laid back did not mean it was any less of a wedding reception. With cake, decor, dancing, and even a bouquet/garter toss, this was quite a memorable reception. And that was before we took a brief pause to sing “Happy Birthday” to Alan. All in all, this Santa Ynez wedding was so very memorable and so very unique, just like Kelly and Alan.
Enjoy their Santa Ynez wedding photos.
