Malibou Lake Mountain Club | Carolyn + Kennedy

Having started our business in Seattle and now living in Southern California, we had a special connection to Carolyn and Kennedy.  Carolyn was from Seattle and made the decision to move to Los Angeles for her love.  They met working together and eventually progressed from friends to dating.  Then, during a dinner date to the Mission Inn in Riverside things changed.

If you have ever been to the Mission Inn, then you will know it can be a truly romantic location all by itself, but Kennedy went the extra mile.  After dinner, he had arranged for a carriage to pick up his Cinderella and be serenaded by violin as they rode around the city.  When the time was right, he took out a glass slipper on a pillow just like Prince Charming, with one exception… this glass slipper had a ring on it.

As if you couldn’t tell, these two are big fans of Disneyland so we all had a lot in common.

Malibou Lake Mountain Club in Malibu, CA has dramatic views and is really unlike any other wedding venue in Ventura County.  Like the name suggests, the view outside is a clubhouse in the mountains somewhere, but with everything that you expect from Southern California… great weather and lots of sunshine.

We all met up as Carolyn and Kennedy were both finishing up getting ready and shortly after we headed out to take in these dramatic views for their First Look.  For part of their romantics, we had access to the private lakeside dock right across the street.  This setting was actually kind of reminiscent of something you’d see in Seattle.  From there it was on to a gorgeous ceremony, set in the adjacent field.

As the ceremony concluded, everyone headed over to the Club for cocktails and appetizers.  When the time was right, the doors opened and the welcoming staff invited everyone in for the reception.  Dinner, dancing, and all the usual traditions kept everyone entertained throughout the night.

By night’s end, Carolyn and Kennedy were wed and Malibou Lake Mountain Club set the scene for this truly memorable event.
