The Gardens at Great Oaks | Destination Wedding | Stephanie + Brian

There have been so many stories about star crossed lovers, but to experience one actually happen is truly magical.  He came from Ohio and studied at Indiana University.  She came from Georgia and studied at University of Alabama.  Separately, they both decided that their future awaited them in California.  This took them both 2200 miles across the US to little Malibu, CA and Law School at Pepperdine University.  It was here that Stephanie and Brian met and became study partners.  See Stephanie and Brian in a few of the spots they fell in love here at their Santa Monica and Malibu engagement session.

After travelling the world separately and together, Stephanie and Brian decided to tie the knot back home… Stephanie’s home to be exact.  That took us to Roswell, GA and the Gardens at Great Oaks.  A historic home dating back to 1842, complete with its own Civil War era stories.  This southern home was built by one of the founders of Roswell itself and the entire property was just everything you could hope for in a Southern Wedding… charm, drama, greenery, and beauty.

We love doing destination weddings and we were excited to get to see and experience the South for the first time.  So, we have been anxiously waiting for this trip for quite some time.  During a destination wedding, we get to experience a new place through the eyes of our couple.  After arriving, we all headed out to the rehearsal dinner at The Yellow House On Green featuring food from Stephanie’s favorite restaurant in the world, Greenwood’s.  The next day was the wedding day at the Gardens at Great Oaks.

After getting ready, Stephanie and Brian had a First Look in the Secret Garden.  Just next to that was the ceremony site.  With a beautiful floral arch over the rustic well, Stephanie and Brian had such an emotional ceremony.  After the cocktail hour on the front lawn, everyone headed to dinner.  Stephanie made a travel theme with the details to commemorate all the adventures these two have already shared and those that still lie ahead of them.  To finish off the celebration everyone headed inside into Ajax Hall for dancing and a special concert by Stephanie’s dad and his band.

It was truly special to celebrate with both of these families in Roswell.  We loved our trip to Georgia and will share more about that in another post.
