Every once in a while a group of individuals come together to achieve great things. Sometimes, they result in championships and trophies. In this case, it resulted in a marriage. These two now have a new teammate for life. The Monsignor made this analogy during the ceremony and I LOVE it. Of course being a sports fan helps, so Emma probably doesn’t appreciate it as much as I do. Priscilla and Chris are major sports fans as you can see if you check out their engagement session in Santa Barbara, so I know they were open to the comparison.
Emma started the day having fun with the girls at the Doubletree in Downtown LA. Meanwhile, I was with the guys hanging out in the Santa Monica home where where they were all getting ready. With both teams in their uniforms and with their game faces on, we all headed out.
The first stop was the Walt Disney Concert Hall for the First Look. It is so beautiful here and there are so many hidden photo spots all over this place it made a great location for the First Look, even though it was actually a busy day around the property. After the First Look, we did a lot of Priscilla and Chris’ couple photos just to take advantage of this gorgeous venue.
Then, we joined the rest of the bridal party on the party bus to the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels. The party was definitely in full swing and Priscilla and Chris being exactly who they are, just jumped right in.
When we arrived at the majestic church set in Downtown Los Angeles, we were still ahead of schedule. So, after we got some fun shots of the whole bridal party together we squeezed in most of the family photos as well.
That led us right up to the ceremony. After a little time to collect and compose themselves for the life-changing moment ahead of them, Priscilla, Chris, and both their teams assembled near the entry to the monumental cathedral.
The ceremony that followed was beautiful and completely unique to these two. The magic behind the words was that not only was it impactful for this happy couple entering into the next chapter of their lives, but I found myself pondering the meanings and messages between photos. Several times I found myself thinking about our relationship and the road that we still have ahead of us even after all these years. It could just be that our 10 year anniversary is only a week away, but this seemed to be a truly incredible ceremony.
Shortly after, it was party time! Complete with a candy bar AND cake!!!
One of my favorite moments during the reception was immediately following the bouquet toss. All the UC Santa Barbara alums, myself included, understand that a great moment at an event isn’t complete without an abundance of tortillas flying through the air. So, to keep up with the tradition and make sure Priscilla had a reminder of the good ol’ days when she was the one responsible for picking them up, a few of her college friends shared this ritual with everyone at the reception.
Overall, this was an amazing day filled with amazing venues and amazing moments. But more importantly, it was filled with amazing people. The fun Priscilla and Chris embody will keep them young at heart and their relationship everlasting.
