Calamigos Ranch | Christina + Jon

We have really been looking forward to Christina and Jon’s Calamigos Ranch wedding for quite some time.  Getting to know them and their pups during their Santa Barbara Courthouse engagement photo session just made us look forward to the big day even more.

Christina and Jon met while working together and hearing all the stories from those days was pure comedy.  This combination of fun and pure romance was exactly what we were so anxious for.

The day began with everyone getting ready at the Sheraton in Agoura Hills.  We met up as everyone arrived at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu to begin getting dressed.  First with Christina and all her girls, then Jon and the guys.  With so many gorgeous venues in one property, as a newly engaged couple it really must be so hard to choose one.  Christina and Jon chose the Oak Room and it fit them and their style perfectly.  We even got to take advantage of some of the nearby barns for their bridal party photos.

The ceremony spot is beautiful on its own and the subtle touches this happy couple added, just elevated it.  With a waterfall backdrop and majestic trees all around, this particular spot in Calamigos Ranch felt almost magical.

After the ceremony, while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we headed around the Malibu Canyon property for some fun bridal party photos and Christina and Jon’s romantics.  When these concluded, everyone headed indoors to the reception area.  The Oak Room has such a unique style that blended perfectly with Christina and Jon’s style.  The reception was filled with fun and full of so many amazing things.  From a cigar bar on the patio and a nacho bar for late night snacks, to pie pops and cream puffs for dessert (just in case wedding cake was not your style) these two had so many little elements that just made the night memorable and so unique.

Being a wedding photographer is so great, because we get to know these amazing people and share one of the biggest days in their lives with them and their families.  Beyond that, we get to travel and see amazing venues and how they transform the breathtaking spots and make them fit their style.  Then, we are lucky enough to be the ones to make these brief moments last forever.
